BETAsoft New Release Version 8.3: We are pleased to announce the newest release of BETAsoft-Board. This update features many important improvements including the ability to import THETAjc values by component partname and power dissipation by component partname or reference designator by a user created text file, an interface to Thermal Desktop, function displays when dragging over the toolbar, node temperature report in the numerical output file, and much more. BETAsoft-Board Demo: This demo lets you experience the extremely fast analysis time and accurate results of BETAsoft-Board on a board with up to six components on the front side. The IDF interface lets you try the functionality on a PADS, Expedition, or Board Station file or on files created with any other software that produces IDF outputs, including OrCAD, Allegro, and CR-5000.

New Shape Library and Update to Material Library in BETAsoft-Board A rich compilation of new styles of components is now avaialble in the Demo (by clicking the "Download" button) and will be available soon in the up coming release. The Shape Library located in BETAsoft-Board provides the geometric dimensions and thermal resistance etc. of standard components including DIP, BGA, QFP, SO, PGA, TO etc. A name similar to JEDEC names is used. The Shape Library is called from the Working Library or the Master Library from the “Add by shape definition” button. The material library has also been expanded to include more than 80 materials.

NASA Tech Briefs Article: We are happy to announce the publication of an article featuring BETAsoft in NASA Tech Briefs magazine. The Application Briefs section (p. 64) of the December 2002 issue describes how BETAsoft was used in the Attitude Control System (ACS) of NASA's TRIANA spacecraft.
